About Shannon

I am a relationship therapist and specialize in helping people nurture personal growth and enrich their connections with others. Much of my practice is focused on helping clients navigate difficult or unexpected life transitions. I am a mediator by nature which helps me connect with clients from a warm and compassionate place. I have a passion for working with individuals struggling with anxiety, perfectionism, shame, family of origin issues, relational betrayal trauma. I help clients with relational struggles to identify their negative interaction cycles and communicate more effectively.

I have extensive experience working with couples and families. Some of the creative interventions I use with families were incorporated in the book "Solution Focused Narrative Therapy" by Dr. Linda Metcalf. I have advanced training in Emotion Focused Therapy for couples (EFT) and have completed Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy. I am a Gottman Seven Principles Program leader and trained as a PREPARE/ENRICH facilitator for couples seeking pre-marital counseling. I also have training to utilize the Enneagram for personality development and exploration.

I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Texas Christian University (Go Frogs!) and a Master of Science degree in Marriage & Family Therapy from Texas Wesleyan University.  I have studied psychology, neuroscience, theory, and human sexuality internationally in England, Scotland and Australia. I’m a self-proclaimed “foodie” and enjoy hiking, practicing yoga, running, playing golf, and reading historical fiction in my free time.
